The workshop GNU-Linux and Virtual Learning Environments is an e-Learning event connected with Software Freedom Day (SFD).
It is focused to GNU-Linux operating system and it's use for teaching and learning,
with different Virtual Learning Environments (VLE) or learning management systems (LMS).
In other words, it is an e-learning workshop restricted to the use of open-source systems and tools for teaching and learning.
Quite limited range of topics will be covered in this conference, more or less restricted to the following topics:
- The use of GNU-Linux platforms into educational systems
- The Virtual Learning Environments
- Case studies of eLearning
- Quality assessment in open and distance education, with OS platforms
- Open-source eLearning projects
- GNU-Linux and FLOSS in Romania, in Romanian language
- Security and ethical issues
- FLOSS educational computer games
An IT Contest, called ProInfo, is organized together with this workshop
to atract Romanian students for developing Open Source projects.
LVLE workshop is a SFD action (for this year too)
i.e. it is devoted to the International Software Freedom Day, to the Computer Science freedom.
